Glorious Amer Fort at Jaipur, India
~ Swati Sharma
Pronounced as ‘Amer’, Raja Man Singh built it in the16th century.
It is an amazing blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture.
The palace is made from marble and precious stones, richly decorated with intricate stonemason works and paintings.
Truly royal…

The garden has a typical design and you can see the layout plan on the door below.
The layout design of the garden
Sheesh Mahal, a beautiful hall of mirrors…
The mirrors are so artistically set on the walls and the ceiling that even a tiny ray of light gets reflected in them and illumines the hall dazzlingly.
In those days a single diya would be enough as the light reflected into thousands of tiny pieces of the mirrors.
A part of the palace is divided into nine parts as the king had nine queens.
Each queen’s area was divided with a high wall.
The well ventilated ramp to reach the top floor…
